1) What inspired you to start your own blog?
It all started out in a trailer in Wylie. With rent being $150/month the Chinese in me just couldn’t pass up such a good deal. All jokes aside, I was really lost about what I wanted to do after graduating College and started blogging to chronicle the meals I’d cook for my fiancé. Since then it’s evolved into a passion and ultimately a career, it’s funny how life works out.
2) Do you have a favorite post on your blog?
My favorite post….that’s hard as I have so many but I think it’d have to be my Strawberry Cheesecake Cupcakes. They are seriously to die for, don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself…
3) If you could narrow it down to one answer, what do you love the most about Dallas? Why?
I love how innovative Dallas is. We really keep up with other major cities like New York and Los Angeles with food, arts and general trends.
4) What does “being local,” mean to you?
Being local means supporting small businesses and trying to source your food from farmers close to the city. Not only are you able to see firsthand where your products are coming from but it’s important to support your own community.
5) What are some of your favorite local independent establishments?
I’m currently working with a company called Artizone that finds the best local purveyors in Dallas like Rex’s Seafood, Hirsch’s Meat Market, Scardello, Larken Farms, Empire Baking Company and delivers them to your front door step. It’s a great way to not only support local businesses but it offers the convenience of home delivery, it’s pretty much the coolest concept ever.
