Shaun from CapCityCrimpin.com

1) Why did you start your blog?

My good friend, Travis, and I had been looking for a place to show our friends and family pictures and videos from our rock climbing trips. When we realized the potential of a blog and its many uses, we quickly jumped on the bandwagon. Since then, CapCityCrimpin is a place to check out news from the local Austin climbing scene and also the daily happenings of our lives.

2) How did you end up in Austin?

Travis is a lifelong Austinite, which doesn’t look to be changing in the near future. While, Shaun is originally from England, then quickly relocated to Dallas. Then after graduating high school and visiting Austin many times, he made the commitment to St. Edward’s University and has been living here ever since.

3)   What does “being local,” mean to you?

To us, being local means taking the extra time out of your day or week to seek out that store that’s a little off the beaten path. Maybe it costs a dollar or two more in the short run, but in the long run your money is supporting something that matters. We feel that by doing this, your mind and wallet can rest easy knowing what good can come from local thoughts.
